Black Limestone Sealer - Transforms Re- Colours Seals and Protect
Easy to Apply, Hardwearing Solvent-Based Sealer and Colourant

Smartseal black limestone sealer is a highly-effective solvent-based sealer and re-colourant for black limestone which gives a transformative effect.
Limestone slabs will often fade over time and gradually turn a lighter shade of grey. The black limestone sealer can transform the look of faded limestone patios and make them look like they were recently laid. The sealer can be re-applied at any time to ensure any limestone slabs on patios or other external surfaces look good at all times.
Preparation:
- Clean surface using a pressure washer and/or Patio Clean Xtreme.
- Allow to dry for a minimum of 72 hours
- Apply above 12°C with a temperature no higher than 23°C
- Two coats are recommended
- Apply by roller
- Coverage: Average coverage approx. 4 - 5mē/litre first coat (dependant on surface) and approx. 6 - 8mē/litre second coat
Always apply to a test area first to determine suitability. A sample size (150 ml) is available for purchase should you wish to try it before committing to purchase 5 Litres.
***PLEASE NOTE*** - For best results, if a sweep-in jointing compound has been used when the slabs were laid, we would recommend using the residue remover prior to application.
Q: Afternoon, Can the Black Limestone Sealer be used on natural slate, the slate always looks dirty, we have used the colour enhancer which works well in sheltered areas, but we need to go darker to get a more uniform colour in high traffix areas and the Black Limestone Sealer could be the answer. The alternative is to replace the entire patio with porcelain slabs which we want to avoid if possible. Mnay thanks, Jon
A: The solvent based black limestone sealer can be used on natural slate. However, as you have already used the solvent free colour enhancer for natural stone, we would suggest carrying out a test with a sample first to ensure suitability.
Q: Hi, is the finish on your black limestone sealant and re colours a matt or gloss finish? Thanks
A: The black limestone sealer would be more of a satin or matt finish. We would not descibe it as 'gloss'
Q: We have tried to clean some cement stains with a wire brush on black limestone and want to know if the sealer will replenish the colour Thanks
A: The black limestone sealer is a pre-pigmented sealer and will replenish the colour of the limestone
I was very unsure what to buy and how to treat my black limestone slabs. After treating it last year with Re-Store they faded and stained very quickly leaving them looking very sad and uninteresting. SmartSeal Black Limestone Sealer really is a game changer!! 2 coats down and the place is looking MINT!! Well worth the money!! Thanks guys!!
Resealed my natural stone with black limestone sealer and looks brand new. Easy & quick to apply. Great product.
Brilliant. Having not been too happy with a previous brand of sealer/ colour enhancer, I first tried this product 2 years ago and it brought up my well faded black granite patio to a brilliant semi wet look deep black finish. Looks like new. I've since re-done it from the same 5 litre tin (my patio is about 70-80 sq metres) to freshen it up. It looks great and ive just ordered another 5litre tin for next time. Probably just give it a freshen up coat annually. Certainly transforms an otherwise tired looking patio!
