Natural Stone Sealer with Colour Enhancing Effect
Protective impregnating sealer to enhance the colour of Natural Stone
Smartseal Indian Sandstone Sealer and Natural Stone Sealer is a high quality, clear, solvent free acrylic impregnating coating system. Application of the sealer will alter the chemical structure of the porous sandstone or natural stone providing a excellent water repellent and stain resistant surface.
The sealer, once applied, will give a damp or slightly wet look finish on natural stone and enhance the original colouring of the surface.
- 1 x 25 litre will treat up to 150 m²
- Resistant to algae, lichen and staining
- Will leave surface darker or 'damp' looking dependent on porosity of surface
- Average coverage 5 - 10 m² per litre first coat and 10 - 20 m² per litre second coat, dependent on porosity and finish of surface

PREPARATION: Due to the effects of Efflorescence and Natural Salts and Minerals, that can permeate through Natural Stone, it is recommended not to seal for a minimum 4 months after installation.
Prior to application of sandstone sealer or natural stone sealer ensure surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry and free from contamination. If algae or stains are present pre-treat prior to cleaning with an appropriate cleaning product.
**If applied to a surface where a "sweep-in" pointing compound has been used within the last 6 months, the natural stone must be fully cleaned with Smartseal Residue Remover prior to sealant application.**
APPLICATION: A suitable pressure sprayer or roller is recommended taking care to avoid any pooling. Application on all substrates should be to full saturation and on vertical surfaces commence at the bottom and work upwards.
Remove any excess after approx 30 - 40 minutes.
- For best results, apply one coat to saturation, and once touch dry (normally around 45 min), apply a second coat "wet on wet" (which means before the 1st coat has totally dried)
- Do not apply in damp conditions
- Application temperature range: 15° to 23°C
- Shake container well before use.
All equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use.
SHELF LIFE: Store away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Protect from frost.

Q: Hi, I have a Kandla Grey sandstone paving and previously used the sandstone colour enhancer sealant in 2020 which worked really well. I note your website recommends that this product is not used for Kandla Grey sandstone - I’m looking to do a clean of the stone and reseal and planned to purchase the same sealant. Could you please advise what is the reason to not to use this product and what alternative you would recommend.? Thanks in advance
A: We tend to recommend using the dry/invisibke finish natural stone sealer for Kandla grey sandstone as the colour enhancers may not enhance the sandstone much and possibly leave it patchy in appearance. However, if you have used the Natural Stone Sealer - COLOUR ENHANCER previously and were happy with the result, you could possibly use again. We always recommend doing a test patch first to determine suitability though.
Q: I have applied the colour enhancer, which has gone down well and given the desired colour , however although I only did it 24 hours ago it has left quite a greasy finish... Will this go as the product dries? Or does it remiain?
A: If the colour enhancer is still sticky or tacky to touch it may be an indication of over application. If this is the case the residue remover can be used to take off the excess product.
Q: How long after treating my patio with Natural Stone Sealer - Colour Enhancer would I be able to use a sweeping in compound
A: You should really use the sweep-in-compound prior to sealing with the natural stone sealer. Once you have used the compound it is best to clean the surface with the residue remover prior to sealing.
Used Xtreme cleaner on my patio could not believe the result cleaned it like new (and it was black/green) thought I would seal it with colour enhancer again could not believe the result have colours I didnt know I had better than new, contacted the company with a couple of questions and spoke to a friendly and knowledgeable human being brilliant!! Could not recommend this company and products used highly enough
I used the colour enhancer on a newly built drive comprising black granite setts, grey granite blocks, polished and flamed silver granite blocks and limestone setts, and what was previously a bland uniform grey hued coloured drive has been transformed into a well defined colour enhanced spectacle. Very pleased with the results. I tried it on some grey granite planks, but it had no effect whatsoever so I'll be using another product.
